74 Startups Selected for the IBK Changgong 2024 First-Half Program

1 Feb 2024

IBK Changgong Launches Its 2024 First-Half Startup Acceleration Program

The companies selected for IBK Changgong, the startup incubation platform of IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, gathered for an onboarding ceremony to mark the start of the 2024 first-half program.

The latest recruitment attracted more than 950 startup applicants, resulting in a competitive 12:1 selection ratio. Ultimately, 74 startups were chosen:
Mapo (20), Guro (20), Busan (16), Daejeon (20), and UNIST Camp (4).

By industry category, the selected companies included 27 ICT startups, 15 knowledge service companies, and 12 health & diagnostic startups. By company age, 36 startups were founded less than 3 years ago, and 26 were between 3 and 5 years old, showing a strong presence of early-stage startups.

IBK Changgong will provide a wide range of specialized programs, including:

  • Equity investment and loan support
  • VC investment matching
  • Global IR programs
  • Open innovation initiatives with large and mid-sized corporations
  • Industry–academia–research technology matching
  • Networking events among Changgong portfolio companies

The onboarding ceremony, held over two days starting on the 11th, brought together approximately 150 participants, including startup founders, executives, IBK representatives, and accelerators. The event featured introductions to IBK Changgong, program briefings, and team-building activities.

Kim In-tae, Head of IBK’s Innovation Finance Group, emphasized during a field discussion:

“I hope that joining IBK Changgong will serve as a turning point for new growth, helping your companies take a major step forward.”

Launched in 2017, IBK Changgong supports the entire growth journey of innovative startups. To date, it has nurtured 707 startups, and 17 portfolio companies were selected as CES 2024 Innovation Award honorees.

Expanding globally, IBK established the IBK Changgong Silicon Valley Desk last year to support startups seeking overseas market entry, and also piloted European acceleration programs.
